Swift and Rusty the cat

Swift is doing really well with Rusty. She is interested to see what he is doing, but not enough to get up if she is relaxing (as shown here). Rusty walked by and Swift pretty much ignored him. I think Swift was a little jealous because I let Rusty play with the water in the bathroom sink this morning. I told her she would have to wait until this afternoon to play with the hose... I think she will really enjoy a plastic kid pool this summer. ;-)

Playing with water

Nail trimming:
I trimmed Swift's nails today. She just relaxed on her side while I cut them, no problems. She is so easy-going.
Stairs:
She has mastered stair climbing. Going down was a little harder than going up, but after a couple times, it is second nature to her.
Petting while laying down:
Loves it
Other animals:
She is great with other dogs (the more the merrier). Okay with cats in the house
Leash walking:
Great. I walk all three together with no problems
Crating:
No problem. Sleeps through the night in her crate with no crying

Follow the leader...

The girls follow me around in the morning while I get ready – they don’t want to miss anything! Here they are hanging out in the hallway. I hope Swift finds her forever home soon, she is going to make a wonderful addition to someone’s family.

When I get ready in the morning I leave all doors open so I can keep an ear on the girls. This morning Swift came into the bathroom while I was showering and started barking at me until I opened the shower curtain. She was so funny, I swear she wanted to get in with me. This girl LOVES water.

The picture shows Swift visiting with another pup through the fence.

Waiting patiently for her forever home

Swifty is super smart. She has quickly learned her way around the house and the yard. This afternoon I put all three girls in the back yard for a run. I went into the inner fence to fill their water bowl and returned through a different gate. My two girls stood at the far gate looking at me, Swifty analyzed the situation for about a second and then took off running around the fence to where I was. The other two followed. She is the same way in the house, very intuitive. If she can not get where she wants to be, she finds another way.

Ready for a belly rub!

Swift, Delta and Charlie stayed home alone today while I was at work. All three tails were going 1,000 MPH when I got home, I think they did fine alone. Her is a picture of Swift getting ready for a belly rub.

Last night Swift went to sleep with no problem, she cried for about a minute and then settled down for the entire night. In the morning she gave Rusty, my fat cat, a few nudges with her muzzled mouth but was easily redirected. Rusty just rubbed against her like he was being groomed. Tell me she isn't beautiful...
